Russians didn't make some outstanding sacrifice that other countries didn't make, however they were the key in the German loss. However, it wasn't their military that did it. It was the Nazi's poor planning, and lack of foresight that... well.. it gets cold as shit in Russia during the winter. Equipment stopped working, and so did people's internal organs.America was mainly protecting England and Destroying Japan... and we unleashed a whole new monster there.

You know,I normally dislike Bill Maher but he was right on in this segment! Actually,I agree with him on most of his views. Maybe it's his overall personality I have a problem with.

Half of the problem is that the American people do not even know their own history. America has in many cases promoted tryanny, installing military dictatorships and other fascists during the Cold War to counter democratically elected communist parties. It was not even close to being the first country to outlaw slavery or pass civil rights - in fact it was one of the last. America has claims to greatness, but like Maher implied they are not so comprehensive as it thinks.

well in the past and to some extent now excluding iraq and the native american genocide we have stood against tyranny when others couldnt we defeated the greater odds of britain the spanish american war defeated slavery passed civil rights one of the first countries to do so black man as president the germans twice i mean thats why we brag we do great think we take a chance when we think its right
